Sorting a Route

Description

Explains how to take an existing route and create a new one sorted by address or name.

Before You Begin

You must have Trash Flow's Routing module and have at least one route with stops in the system.

Context

Routes in Trash Flow are meant to be in pick-up order: it should reflect a driver starting a route, going to the listed stops in that order, dumping at the landfill, and returning to the shop.

You might not necessarily know the stop order when adding customers, importing data, etc. This function is a way to at least make the stops easier to find. As a precaution this function won't override the existing route. Instead it creates a new route using your chosen sort method.

Duplicate and Sort the Route

  1. On the Trash Flow main screen click the Routing button and open a route.
  2. Right-click within the route window, point to Edit, and click Duplicate and Sort.
  3. Choose whether to sort by City and Street, street name only, or customer name.
  4. Leave TR Route checked if you want the new route to be available on driver tablets.
  5. Click OK to create the route.

When You're Done

The sorted route will be given the same name as the original with the current date added to the end.
