Using On-Call Work Orders

This article explains how create and use "on-call" work orders, a function that speeds up work order creation for customers who get many container swaps over time.

Before You Begin

You must have access to Trash Flow's work orders, either with Commercial Billing or with Container Tracking.

Context

Some customers might get a dump & return, swap, etc. for a container many times over your business relationship. "On Call" work orders provide a way to set up a work order with standard rates and actions without having to pick options each time.

Steps to follow: Creating the work order

  1. Create a work order from the customer account, container placement, dispatch window, etc.
  2. Choose the Location. The Action should usually be something like Swap, Dump & Return, Switch, etc.; if these are not available please call Trash Flow Tech Support or see Changing Work Order Actions.
  3. Set WO Schedule to On-Call.
  4. Click OK to finish creating the work order.

When you're done

There will be a new work order that stays near the top of customer history. Trash Flow still lists the work order number, location, action, etc. What changes is the Date column—this work order will always show up as "On-Call." Think of that one work order as a starting place for work on that container.

Steps to follow: Using the on-call work order

  1. Open the customer account and navigate to the History tab.
  2. Click the On-Call work order.
  3. Right-click, then click Schedule on-call WO.
  4. A window opens to edit the work order. Pick a Scheduled Date and change any other options as needed.
  5. Click OK to finish creating the work order.
