Description
This page explains how to sign a customer up for automatic payments. Please note that if the customer has chosen to sign up at the website the steps below are not necessary; the information will be filled in automatically when you pick up web payments.
Before You Begin
You must have one of Trash Flow's billing modules. You must have returned the Docusign agreement to allow to process payments, ourverification process must be completed, and one of our employees must enable automatic payments during setup and training. If your company is not currently using Trashbilling and you’d like to find out more about the service please call Trash Flow at 1-800-852-5199.
Context
One of the most used features of our Trashbilling service is the ability to automatically charge customers when their payment is due. Autopay makes it easier for your business to get paid on time and removes the burden of the customer to remember to pay that bill every month. Keep in mind that it is automatic from the customer's point of view—someone in your office must still send an autopay batch when it's time to make those charges.
Steps to Follow
- Open the customer account and click on the E.F.T. tab.
- Enter the password if needed. (If you do not know what password you set up or if this is the first time you're trying to enter information here, please call Trash Flow at the number below.)
- Click the button.
- Use Pay Type to choose ACH (for a bank account) or CC (for a credit/debit card).
- If the customer wants to use their bank account, enter the bank's Routing Number and the customer's Account Number, then choose whether the account is Checking or Savings.
- If they want to use their credit card or debit card, enter the Card Number and Expiration Date.
- Click .
- If the customer wants to have their payment deducted automatically check the Use for AutoPay box. If they instead want to call or message you simply leave the box unchecked.
When you're done
An account can have multiple saved payment methods but only one can be used for autopay. When you send an autopay batch the customer will be charged for their current balance.
