Voiding a Landfill Ticket

Description

This describes how to void out a scalehouse ticket that has already been generated in the TipTicket program.

Before You Begin

You must have the TipTicket module for this to work, and the ticket must have already been created.

Context

Everyone makes mistakes, and sometimes landfill tickets need to be voided out. Common reasons include an error being made when recording weights; the wrong customer being chosen when taking payment; a contaminated load that can't be disposed of at your facility; or a customer coming in who turns out to be ineligible to dump.

Two other things to keep in mind about voiding tickets: Trash Flow will not let you void a ticket that has already been invoiced. If for some reason you have to do so then the correct sequence is to delete the invoice from customer history then void the ticket. You can void a ticket that has already been paid, but TipTicket will give you ample warning that the ticket was marked as paid and remind you to refund any money collected.

Steps to follow

  1. Click Edit > Retrieve Ticket.
  2. Enter the ticket desired and click OK.
  3. Click Edit > Void Ticket.

When you're done

Voided tickets are deleted from customer history and do not affect regular reports, but they are never fully deleted. They can still be retrieved and viewed, and the Tickets Report has options to include voided tickets for auditing purposes.
