Uploading Routes

Description

Uploading routes makes sure your drivers using TeleRoute have the most current information from Trash Flow.

Before You Begin

You should already have set up your lists of drivers, trucks, and site locations, along with several other miscellaneous options. This will almost always be done with the assistance of a technician from Trash Flow.

Context

The TeleRoute mobile app gets all of its information from Trash Flow on your computer. When a driver logs on to TeleRoute the app fetches the most recent information available from a central server at Trash Flow. To make sure that the driver is seeing recent customers, new routes, changes, etc. most users upload routes every day.

Steps to follow

  1. Click TeleRoute > Upload Routes.
  2. Choose which options you want using the checkboxes. Most of these set whether or not you want certain customer information to be visible to the drivers.
  3. Choose the date. Most users upload routes at the end of the day for the following business day.
  4. Click OK.

When you're done

Within five minutes of your uploading routes the information will be available to the drivers. If a driver is ever not seeing the most current information the first advice we always give is for them to simply log out of the app and log back in.

Reference: Options when uploading routes

  • Show Containers: If you have the Container Tracking module and you set up container placements for your customers on routes, check this.
  • Show Balances: Sets whether the driver sees each customer's current balance.
  • Show phone numbers: Sets whether the driver sees each customer's phone number.
  • Show ended: If you have ended customers along the route this sets whether they should appear as route stops.
  • Show codes: Sets whether the driver sees the bill codes on each customer's account. Note that this will list the code and description (what the customer is being billed for), but not how much they are being charged.
  • Show rates: Sets whether the driver sees the rates each customer is being charged.
  • Highlight customers overdue by days: Customers that are past due by at least the number of days you choose here will display in a different color on the mobile app.
  • Include Dumpster/Misc line: Sets whether the driver sees what's typed on the Dumpster/Misc. line of the customer Miscellaneous tab.
  • Show Action Buttons for ended/suspended: Suspended customers appear in TeleRoute, but typically they are shown in gray and the driver cannot record anything for that stop. Checking this box lets the driver record activity there as usual. Most Trash Billing users check this option to allow for situations where a customer makes a payment in the morning when a driver is already running the route.
