TeleRoute In the Office: WorkOrders

For drivers doing work orders the TeleRoute mobile app is meant to replace the paper dispatch list. It’s a way for each driver to see all their work orders for the day, in order, with any notes or extra information they need. The process of creating and assigning work orders doesn’t change at all—just generate the work orders and assign them as needed. The mobile application will refresh automatically within a couple of minutes so the drivers will always see their current work for the day. Note that this also applies to any changes to any existing work orders; if you edit a work order, add a note, etc. the driver’s device will reflect that.

Messages

Click Routing > TeleRoute > Driver Messages to see any messages from your drivers and send new messages to them. At the bottom of the window you can set filters to only see messages from a certain Driver, Truck, or Route. Use the Message field to write a new message, use the fields on the left to choose who it’s for, then click Send.

TeleRoute Activities On Work Orders

As the driver does their work for the day they can enter information on the work orders that will automatically appear in Trash Flow. In addition to immediately sending a message as described above, they can include information from the list below. Anything the driver enters appears when you edit or complete the work order in Trash Flow. (This shows up in a new section at the bottom of the window.) You could get the same information, of course, by calling the driver or waiting for them to bring back paperwork at the end of the day; having them enter it directly in their mobile device simply streamlines the process.

  • Extras: The office sets up a list of extra charges made for work orders: dry run, liner charges, mileage, etc. The driver can access this list when doing a work order and indicate anything that needs to be charged for.
  • Change Container: If the driver is bringing the customer a new container they can note the new container number on the work order.
  • Add Note: This can be anything—the driver has a simple text box where they can enter a note about the job.
  • Take Picture: The driver can take a picture if the container is damaged, inaccessible, etc.
  • Landfill: If the driver makes a landfill trip they can note down the weight, ticket number, cost, which landfill they went to, and any other relevant information.
