Reordering Stops With TeleRoute

Description

Drivers using TeleRoute have two ways of letting the office know that a stop should be in a different place along the route.

Context

TeleRoute uses route information supplied from Trash Flow. Since the drivers are the ones actually running the route it can be useful to let them set the pickup order for the future. Trash Flow supplies two ways to do this: letting the driver change specific stop numbers or reordering the entire route based on the pickup order. Generally speaking use the first method if your goal is to just get the new customers in the correct place along the route; use the second method if you want to make more extensive changes.

Changing a stop number: steps to follow

  1. The driver should wait until they have picked up (or marked another activity) on the stop just before the one that needs to be changed.
  2. Within TeleRoute, select the stop that needs to be changed.
  3. Tap OTHER , then tap Move After Prev Stop. If Trash Flow is set to accept stop changes automatically then you are done; ignore steps 4 and 5.
  4. If the office needs to approve any stop changes then click TeleRoute > Exception Processing in Trash Flow.
  5. Click Do Stop Move. If you do not want to accept the driver's change then click Ignore Move Stop.

Reordering the entire route: steps to follow

  1. The driver marks the stops (Picked Up, Trash Not Out, etc.) in the correct order when running the route.
  2. Once they mark the route as completed, the Trash Flow user opens the route, right-clicks, and goes to Route > View Route History.
  3. Choose the day/time you want—the time here is when the route was marked as completed.
  4. Right-click and choose Reorder Stop From History.
  5. Choose a name for the changed route and press ENTER.

When you're done

In either case the driver's information has been utilized and the route is now in the correct order.
