Send and Receive TeleRoute Messages in the Mobile App

The drivers using TeleRoute and the office workers using TrashFlow can send each other messages to communicate while the routes are being run.

Context

Sometimes circumstances change after the driver has left for the day: someone calls for a special pickup, a delinquent customer pays their bill, a new stop is added, etc. On the other hand a driver may need to notify the office about something: a stop leaves out too much trash, road construction causes a change in the route, they start to fall behind, etc.

Driver sends a message to the office: steps to follow

  1. Tap MESSAGING across the top of TeleRoute.
  2. Tap SEND OFFICE NEW MESSAGE.
  3. Use the keyboard to type your message, then tap SEND. (Depending on the device model you are using you may need to tap Done or to make the SEND button appear.)
  4. Tap ROUTING to return to the route.

Driver receives a message from the office: steps to follow

  1. You must acknowledge a message when it appears. Tap RESPOND: YES, RESPOND: NO, or WRITE RESPONSE.
  2. The first two options simply send the word "Yes" or "No" back to the user in the office.
  3. If you need to write out a longer response follow the steps above to send a message to the office.

When You're Done

The office should receive your message within four minutes.
