Move After Previous Stop

Description

The driver has the ability to tweak the route order by setting the correct pickup order in TeleRoute.

Before You Begin

You must have the Routing module and at least one TeleRoute license to use this feature. You just also decide if you want the move to happen automatically or if someone in the office should approve the changes. If you want the move to show up as an exception to be approved then in Trash Flow click TeleRoute > Settings > Qualifying Exceptions and check the Move After Previous Stop option.

Context

It often happens that the office makes their best guess as to where a customer should go along a route, but the driver in the field sees a better way to do things. This option in the TeleRoute app lets the driver say "Change the stop I'm at now to come directly after the last stop I picked up." Note that this ability is similar to Reordering Stops With TeleRoute, but not quite the same. Moving after the previous stop requires at most one click from the office and modifies an existing route rather than creating a new one.

Steps to follow

  1. Tap on the next stop that you are actually picking up; select OTHER.
  2. Enter any notes, pictures, etc. first, then tap Move After Prev Stop.
  3. Tap one of the four options that finalizes the stop: Picked Up, Trash Not Out, Bin Blocked, or Stop Skipped.

When you're done

If moving stops is set as an exception, go into TeleRoute > Exception Processing, highlight the activity, and click DO STOP MOVE. It's important to do these in order, first to last if there are multiple moves happening on the same route.
