Understanding Dates in Trash Billing

When you send an autopay batch, your computer is sending instructions to us at Trash Flow to charge the specified customers for their outstanding balance. When you send the batch, Trash Flow marks those customers’ accounts as paid right away; we assume that you will receive your money unless something goes wrong.

When a customer uses a credit or debit card to pay online, our software requests authorization on the card to make sure that all the information is valid and that the customer has enough money to cover the payment. If a customer chooses to directly charge their bank account using the bank routing and account numbers, our software can only check to make sure that the bank routing number is valid. In either case, a record of the payment is available to be picked up within 5 minutes of the transaction.

Once the payments have been submitted (either from your autopay batches or from customer payments online), we here at Trash Flow process the payments through the banking and credit card systems that evening. Once the transactions are processed we deduct our transaction fees along with any returns and send instructions to deposit the balance into your bank account. It therefore takes 2 business days from the time the transaction is submitted for the money to be deposited to the bank account(s) you specified in your Trash Billing contract.
