Completing a Landfill Ticket

Click the drop-down arrow next to In Yard and choose the returning vehicle. If using a scale link, wait until the amount in the Enter Weight field stabilizes, then press Enter. (If not using a scale link, simply type in the Enter Weight field and press Enter.) Make sure any bill codes and rates are correct in the right-hand portion of the window. Click Print Ticket and take the customer’s payment, if necessary.

About Completing a Landfill Ticket

Landfill tickets follow a certain sequence of events. A vehicle arrives at the scale house to be weighed and sent to the yard to dispose of waste. (See this link for further explanation of how a vehicle’s ID number, owner, and customer work together in TipTicket.) TipTicket tracks which vehicles have been sent to the yard; when a vehicle returns to the scale house, the operator can quickly pull up the record, enter the closing weight or leave the known tare weight, and charge the customer. If you have TipTicket set up to complete work orders, printing a ticket will also bring up the work order completion screen. If the person being charged is listed as a Cash Customer instead of a regular Trash Flow customer, you will be required to take a payment from them when you print the ticket. If for some reason you cannot take the payment you can send the truck back to the yard, transfer the ticket to a different customer that receives a bill, or void the ticket. Note that if you are taking an electronic payment for a cash customer you'll see an extra window during the payment process to enter in the name and address of the payer.

The ticket will display the business name (from Scale Setup); gross, tare, and net weights; vehicle information; descriptions of what was dumped (from the bill codes); customer name, address, and account number; and the origin or destination of the load. Depending on your settings it may also include the price, the scale operator's name, permit numbers, a note, and container information.
