Click System > Backup TF Info. Click Yes, then choose the Windows drive (and directory, if necessary) where you want to save the backup. Click OK to save. Note that Trash Flow will always exit when it completes a backup.

About Backing Up your Trash Flow Data

We advise Trash Flow users who do not use our cloud service to back up data at least once a week; many companies make backups every day. The most important thing about your business computer isn’t the machine or the software that you bought—it’s your data. Computers can be replaced, software can be reinstalled, but if something goes seriously wrong with your computer you may not be able to recover your data from Trash Flow. You’ll need a recent backup of your business data that was saved to a different computer. Depending on your computer and network setup, you have several options for backing up your data.

• Off-site Backup: Trash Flow offers an easy offsite backup solution for just $10 a month. With two mouse clicks, you can send a backup of your Trash Flow information to a secure, climate-controlled data center. You can even schedule the computer to automatically make a backup every day. • Flash Drive: A flash drive (sometimes called a thumb drive) is a small storage device that plugs into a USB port on your computer. A Trash Flow backup generally takes up between 1 and 50 Megabytes of space; any flash drive can hold multiple Trash Flow backups with plenty of room to spare. We suggest that at least one flash drive with a Trash Flow backup be stored in a building separate from the computer that runs Trash Flow whenever possible.
• Network Drive: If your office is networked, you can save your backups to another computer on that network. Having the data on two separate computers greatly reduces the likelihood of permanently losing information.
• Cloud Service: We can store your data on our servers so that you can access it from anywhere with an Internet connection. This is especially useful if you have more than one office location and need them to access the data at the same time. Our cloud servers are automatically backed up every day.
