Charging All Stops On a Route
This explains how to make the same charge to all customers along a route.
Before You Begin
You must have both the Billing and Routing modules of Trash Flow in order to charge all stops.
Context
This function is used to make a single, one-time charge to every customer along a route. It is often used for services like franchise fees and recycling. Note that you must use the same bill code and same amount for every stop along the route—this function cannot make different charges that depend on the number of cans, area serviced, number of pickups, etc.
Charge the Stops
- Open the route you wish to charge from the Route button on the tilebar.
- Right-click anywhere within the route window and click .
- Use the filtering options if desired to choose only customers with a certain Account Type, Billing Group, Sales Tax District, Geographic Region, Source Company, and/or Business.
- One filtering option deserves special mention: Cust Has Bill Code allows you to choose only customers that have a given recurring bill code set up on their account.
- Choose a Start Date and End Date, if desired. These will add a period to the charge that will show up in the customers' financial history and bills.
- Choose whether to Ignore End Date. This is usually left unchecked since most companies will not want to charge ended customers.
- Choose whether to Include Zero Charges. Checking this box is a way to allow for bill codes with a description but no rate to be "charged" to a customer account, usually so the associated description can appear on bills.
- Enter a Note to appear on the bills, if desired.
- Click to charge the customers.
When you're done
All the customers along the route will have been charged with the chosen bill code. You can choose to send bills or run automatic payments right away or wait until later.
