Setting Up MatTrack

MatTrack allows you to track the transactions, amounts and origins of materials, trucks, and dropsites involved in trash tips. While it is not designed to handle full-fledged landfill operation on its own, MatTracker is a useful tool for haulers who need to record how much of which types of material their businesses handle. To open MatTracker, click the MatTrack button on the Trash Flow toolbar or press the F7 key on your keyboard.

Click System > Setup > MatTrack > Materials. Type the name of a material you need to track—Solid Waste, C&D, Recycling, etc.—and press ENTER. A pop-up window will let you know that you’ve entered a new material and ask you to confirm whether you want to Add This Name; click Yes. Repeat this process for all other materials you want to track. Click OK when finished.

Next, click System > Setup > MatTrack > Dropsites. Type the name of a landfill, transfer station, or other dropsite you use and press ENTER. A pop-up window will let you know that you’ve entered a new dropsite and ask you to confirm whether you want to Add This Name; click Yes. Repeat this process for all other dropsites you use. Click OK when finished.

Next, click System > Setup > MatTrack > Origins. Type the name of a county, town, business, or other place you receive trash from and press ENTER. A pop-up window will let you know that you’ve entered a new origin and ask you to confirm whether you want to Add This Name; click Yes. Repeat this process for all other dropsites you use. Click OK when finished.

If you plan to enter loads that might have come from more than one origin you may want to check Split by Origin; when entering tickets you could include, for instance, that about 70% of this load came from Colfax and 30% from Cloutierville.

Finally, click System > Setup > Lists > More > Trucks. Type a name for a truck that hauls the trash and click OK. Repeat this process for all other trucks you want to track. Click OK when finished.
