Access Control

System > Setup > Access Control

Our Access Control module allows Trash Flow users to log in with a password, control what users can do with the software, and record which users make changes on customer accounts. This feature comes with Trash Flow automatically at no extra cost. See the following links to add a user to Trash Flow, edit a user’s permissions, or change a user’s password.

IMPORTANT: This first Trash Flow user entered will automatically be created as a superuser with the ability to add users and modify or delete permissions on their accounts. This should usually be the company manager or owner.
Also, be aware that adding logins for staff will wipe out any saved profile data and that PC-specific information will not be carried over into the new login. This includes saved bill print settings, reports templates, message templates, and route sheets print settings. We suggest that if you rely on that saved profile information you should write this information down so it can be reproduced within the new Trash Flow Access Control User Profile.
Access Control is disabled by default. The feature can be turned on by clicking System > Setup > Access Control and unchecking Disabled. When you reopen Trash Flow a login window appears Enter your desired username and press ENTER. A new window appears; enter the password you want and press ENTER. Retype that password to confirm and press ENTER again. Enter a hint to the password in case you forget, then press ENTER. The window closes and you can now log in with that username and password.

If your company has our Commercial Billing module all events recorded in a customer’s activity history will show the initials of the user who created the event. You can also see who assessed charges or entered payments by using the Invoices or Containers view on a customer’s financial history. Access Control will make user initials show next to each entry on the Customer Event Report.
