Creating a Container Placement

Customer information screen, Boxes tab, right-click > Add Container Placement

When you first add a container placement, an entry will appear on the Boxes tab showing the customer’s physical address and an entry saying “No container in this place.” Double-click the entry to open the container placement screen. Click in the Serial # box and press the SPACEBAR to bring up a selection screen. Choose a container to assign to this placement. Trash Flow may show a warning screen saying that the container is either a different size or a different type than the placement. From the drop-down menu, choose Change the Placement’s settings, Change the Container’s settings, or Nothing, just load the container. (When first entering containers on a customer’s account, you’ll usually want to choose Change the Placement’s settings.)

Set the amounts you will charge for disposal on the Rates tab. In the Codes column, enter the desired bill codes for container Pick-Up and disposal, daily Rental charges, Regular periodic charges, a Landfill Fee, an Oversize Fee, and a Drop charge. (If you decide to not use bill codes on this screen for whatever reason, you can also simply enter the desired charge amount in the Rate box.) If you need to change the physical address of the container placement, press F3, make the necessary changes, and click Save and Exit. Next, click on the Terms tab. If desired, choose a Minimum amount of trash you will charge for, an amount that will be considered Oversize, and a number of Free Rental Days. If you take security deposits/prepayments you can also check the box Apply Deposit on Work Order Completion; this will automatically convert the deposit to a payment when the work is marked as done.
