Misc. Tab

The Miscellaneous tab of the customer information window contains information and settings that do not easily fit into one of the other available categories. The items listed below may not all be available to you, depending on which modules of Trash Flow you purchased.

  • Source Company: This box lets you designate where you acquired the customer. It's most often used when a hauler purchases another trash company or buys routes from a rival hauler. It can also be used to track the effectiveness of advertising by setting each ad you run as a source company, then asking new customers how they heard about your business.
  • Geographic Area: This box lets you enter a geographic region for the customer.
  • Salesperson: If you have salespeople who work on commission this box lets you designate which employee signed up the customer.
  • Dumpster/Misc.: This box lets you enter a short bit of text. The most common uses are for simple container tracking—entering the can number in this field—or to keep a record of their account number from the software used before Trash Flow.
  • Secure Customer: If you use Trash Flow's Access Control module you can set certain customers as "secure"—only approved employees can access the account.
  • Do not print Tip Ticket: If this option is checked Trash Flow's landfill program will not print out a scale ticket for this customer.
  • Print/Email Bill: If you have entered an email address for this customer these buttons let you choose whether this customer should receive printed bills, e-mailed bills, or both.
  • Print/Email Tkt: If you have entered an email address for this customer these buttons let you choose whether this customer should receive printed scalehouse tickets, emailed tickets, or both.
  • A General Cash Customer: Checking this box makes the account act as a "cash customer" in Trash Flow or TipTicket. It is usually set on only one or two accounts that are typically used when you are charging someone for a service but do not need to enter them as a unique customer. Making a credit card or ACH payment on such an account prompts you to enter the customer's name and address.
  • P O #: This box lets you enter a standing purchase order number or secondary account number for the customer.
  • Credit?: Selecting this box lets you set a credit limit for the customer. Once the box is selected, a box will appear where you can enter their credit limit.
  • Surcharge: This box lets you choose a surcharge for the customer.
  • Business: If you are using Trash Flow to run more than one business, this menu lets you choose which business to assign the customer to.
  • Terms: This box lets you type a brief statement of terms (up to 30 characters) that will appear on all bills for this one customer. Payment terms are more usually handled by using due dates or going to System > Setup > Lists > Terms and entering terms that will appear on all customers' bills.
  • Sold Date: This box lets you record the date that the customer was sold to another hauler.
  • TT Permit #: This box allows you to enter a permit number that will be printed out on tickets made for trucks belonging to this customer.
