What are surcharges?
A surcharge is an aditional fee that is added to a customer’s bill. It is often used to cover the fluctuating cost of fuel, though they can be used for other purposes as well. You should enter your bill codes before entering your surcharges, and finish both before you begin to type in customer information.
How do I set up surcharges?
- Make sure that you’ve created a percentage or flat rate bill code to be used as a surcharge.
- Click .
- In the Surcharge box, type a name for the surcharge you’re adding (for example, Fuel Surcharge) and press Enter.
- A pop-up window will let you know that you’ve created a new entry and ask you to confirm whether you want to Add This Surcharge; click .
- Enter the bill code you’ve created as a fuel surcharge in the Res. Assess Code and/or Com. Assess Code.
- You may also wish to add codes for Drop/Pickup and Tip Fee charges.
- Click to save your changes.
To add the surcharges to a customer’s account:
- Open the customer window.
- Go to the Misc. tab of the customer window.
- Enter the name of the surcharge in the Surcharge box.
How do I change the name of a surcharge?
- Click and select the appropriate surcharge.
- In the lower-left corner of the window, click . You can now edit the charge’s name.
- Click to save your changes.
